What is a pod?
A pod is a dynamic, simulated design team created for each assignment to replicate the real-world experience of working as a designer.
Every pod consists of:
- ~10 cohort members (randomly assigned, mix of newbies, upskillers & career transitioners)
- 1 industry mentor (3-4+ years of experience in top design teams)
- 1 alumni mentor (2+ years of experience, from our earlier cohorts)
Each assignment serves as a simulation, helping you practice team collaboration, asynchronous work and problem solving in a multiplayer environment while executing individual responsibilities.
How it works
Pod creation
Pods are created at the start of the cohort and might be subject to change across all three assignments. The pairings of members and mentors is randomised to ensure a varied, unbiased learning experience that gives you the opportunity to interact with multiple people.
Role simulation
Pods are designed to operate like real-world design teams, with:
- Industry mentors acting as design leads, providing crucial feedback and insights on your assignments.
- Alumni mentors as senior designers offering relatable guidance, solving doubts and understanding your challenges having recently transitioned from learners to professionals.
- Eunice, our operations manager, is available in every pod to assist you with questions related to pod mentors, members or the program itself, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
